Lori Canyon adventure in Armenia – Horse riding, hiking, rafting

Our Canyoneering adventures consist of going down narrow gorges through horseback riding, hiking, and rafting.

Our horse trek starts from the stable, next to the small village of Aygehat. We ride along the rim of Debed Canyon until we get to the medieval Tsater church, carved out of rocks at the edge of the canyon. We will then ride down the scenic Dzoraget valley.

Our next stop is the hilltop fortresses of ‘the brother and the sister’ lying over the river Dzoraget. Here one can find medieval forts on top of steep rocky hills, between which the rapid and stormy river turns into a quiet backwater creating the most exciting scenery of the valley.

And finally, our rides along the river take us back to the stable.

The stream with its features on the western rim of Debed Canyon is perfect for experiencing unforgettable adventures in nature.

You will live an adrenaline adventure by exploring the Debed Valley and discovering the world of waterfalls, natural caves, and the mysterious hidden corners of the canyon.

Climb down for about 30m to uncover the natural caves of Sghnahk, scattered along the rocky hills at about 350m altitude above the bottom of the canyon.

After reaching the junction, which itself is a dramatic viewing point, the group will walk downhill (210 meters) through the twisting trail rich in wild berries and native hop bushes about 1.1 km.

You will discover the unique Debed River through half an hour rafting.

This adventure is something that cannot be missed in the Debed Valley.

It is the perfect activity for families, friends, solo travelers, and nature lovers where is possible to paddle, surf the waves, and descend along the rapids, surrounded by amazing landscapes.
