During our tour to Gori-Uplistsikhe, you'll have the chance to explore several significant sites that represent different epochs in Georgian history. These include the ancient Uplistsikhe cave town, the Joseph Stalin Home Museum, and the Gori Fortress. This journey will provide you with a rich and diverse perspective on Georgia's historical heritage.

We will visit:

  • Uplistsikhe: which translates to "Fortress of the Lord," is a cave town fortress perched on a rocky outcrop along the left bank of the Mtkvari River. Dating as far back as the 1st to 2nd millennium B.C., Uplistsikhe held immense significance as a religious, political, and cultural hub during the Hellenistic and late Antique periods. Even today, visitors can wander through the ancient streets, explore a rock-carved theater, visit royal halls, discover a pharmacy, and explore both pagan temples and Christian churches. The remnants of granaries and large clay wine vessels offer insights into the daily life of the inhabitants of this extraordinary site.
  • The Joseph Stalin Museum in Gori: offers an intriguing insight into the life of Joseph Stalin, who was originally Georgian and served as the secretary general of the Communist Party during World War II. He remains one of the most influential dictators in modern history. The museum includes several notable exhibits: You can visit the small hut where Stalin was born; Explore the armored railway carriage that was used by Stalin; See the statue of Stalin that stood in the main square of Gori until 2010, a subject of controversy; You'll find a wealth of historical documentation, photographs, paintings, and newspaper articles that shed light on Stalin's life and era.
  • Borjomi is a charming resort town in the south-central region of Georgia, nestled on the fringes of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. The town is renowned for its mineral water, which serves as Georgia's primary export. Visitors can explore the Romanov summer palace and the World Wide Fund for Nature-designated site, the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. Additionally, Borjomi boasts the largest ecologically themed amusement park in the entire Caucasus region, making it a captivating destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
