Mtskheta is often called city-museum on account of the town's founding date, its abundance of ancient churches, pagan temples and streets keeping the old city spirit in the face of cobblestone paths and architecture.
On our day tour we will go to this ancient city and explore it in depth with our guide.
Firstly we will visit Jvari Monastery, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Church stands on the rocky mountain pick, from up here the confluence of rivers Aragvi and Mtkvari is to be seen.
Former capital of Georgia is a best walking destination, apart from the sheer number of historical sites, streets are filled with old houses with carved wooden balconies; markets selling snacks, souvenirs and many more.
The guide will tell you in details about everything you'll encounter. Biggest story to be told is that of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which is the next stop of a trip. Svetitskhoveli translates as "Church of the living Pillar" - It's second largest church in Georgia and first christian one.
After an interesting day, you can top it off with a pleasant dinner in Ornament Express. It is located opposite Svetitskhoveli cathedral. The restaurant is very cozy, you can enjoy views of old town in a calm atmosphere music choice is good and the volume not too high. Food is very delicious and staff as friendly as it gets.
