Start your trip in Kutaisi, taking the opportunity to explore any remaining attractions in the city before hitting the road. Don't forget to visit Bagrati Cathedral, Gelati Monastery, and the vibrant Kutaisi Market if you haven't already. The route from Kutaisi to Tbilisi takes you through picturesque landscapes and allows you to explore some notable attractions.
As you leave Kutaisi, you'll pass through the town of Zestaponi, known for its manganese production. It's a good spot to take a break or grab a quick snack before continuing your journey. Before reaching Tbilisi, consider making a detour to Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage site and ancient capital of Georgia. Visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery, both significant religious sites with rich history and stunning architecture.
After exploring Mtskheta, continue the final stretch to Tbilisi. Once you arrive in the capital, you can explore its numerous attractions, including the Old Town, Rustaveli Avenue, Mtatsminda Park, Peace Bridge, Narikala Fortress, Dry Bridge Flea Market, and more. In the spring and summertime we recommend visiting the Botanical Garden too. Located at the foothills of the Sololaki Range, the Tbilisi Botanical Garden is a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city.
